With unique lighting, the nights of Tuchkov Park bring the Neva and Saint-Petersburg into a dialogue.
The luminous atmosphere accompanies the public in a gentle transition that connects the city with the river, urban night with natural night.
The lighting in the park fluctuates under the influence of the Neva. The colors and intensity of the light are controlled by a hydrogenerator which senses the speed of the river current in real time. Thus the luminous climate of the park echoes the movement of the great landscape in a calm manner.
The uses of the park vary according to the season, the days of the week, daily events and exceptional events. The light, automated and scripted, accompanies all these fluctuations to create a light partition.
The street lighting candelabras are specially designed for this unique space. The light poles are draped with a reflective skin to capture all of the light and colorful energy from the sky and the water’s surface. These poles are multifunctional, capable of accommodating light sources for functional and scenographic lighting such as smartcity elements (cameras, speakers, sensors).
