Our light installation at Place de la République in Paris encourages its redevelopment to the benefit of the pedestrians and it’s heritage.
The installation of tall needle-shaped masts around the edges of the square creates a broad central area. They diffuse a pleasant light and share a dialogue with the historical lampposts that have been re-installed and equipped with modern and dimmed light sources. The masts are also fitted with an illuminated bark that diffuses an ever-changing light, which highlights the conviviality of this central space.
We have always believed that a minimal level of illumination makes the nighttime more comfortable.
While the low intensity lighting allows the Place de la République to function, it also creates a virtuous atmosphere. Thereby, new uses emerge and the city is breathing.
At nightfall, the central monument of the square, the statue of Marianne, welcomes the tricolour movement of a luminous flag.
